Sestri Levante

Sestri Levante, the city of two seas, has always inspired poets and writers with its unique morphology: a thin strip of land connecting the promontory to the mainland, nestled between the Bay of Fables and the Bay of Silence.
This historic and cultural village offers dreamlike panoramas, where every glimpse seems taken from a fairy tale.

The City of Fables

Since 1967, Sestri Levante has celebrated children’s literature with the Hans Christian Andersen Bay of Fables Award,
the most prestigious Italian recognition in the sector.
The award is named after the famous author Hans Christian Andersen, who found inspiration for his enchanting stories
during a stay in 1833 at an inn overlooking the Bay of Silence.
This characteristic Ligurian village continues to be a meeting place for creativity and narrative magic.
